It is a good place to visit with the family. Great history about how people have evolved over hundreds of years. A dynamic museum from archaeology to public relations. One needs to plan accordingly as there is no parking on site, but there are many other carparks adjacent. Good for all ages groups.
Small but free museum with an eclectic mix of items related to the Guildford area.
Nice place just outside of Guildford castle. It has many old age items to look into. Good place for history lovers. They have many old items like cycle, old stitching, old clothes, old bungalows in displays
Small and dark. Not much to see. Still it's free.
Finally popped in today, after so many times to go in. Friendly staff at reception was very welcoming. Looked around, so so interesting around the area Guildford and Surrey. Bought very nice map of Guildford from 1739 for only £1.50. Free entry but left £5 as donation. Will recommend and go again
Amazing, free resource in the heart of Guildford. Friendly staff and a wealth of information on the history of Guildford. It is incredibly useful for school projects.
Very enjoyable visit. My granddaughter
loves it especially the kitchen/scullery. Always a must when we go into Guildford
I went to the museum to see the Gertrude Jeckyll exhibits. She was a fascinating woman, and influential gardener and a significant figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. Walking down the hill from the museum takes you to the river. I especially enjoyed the medieval properties by the riverside, including houses on stilts for flood protection. The museum is free. I also enjoyed the prehistoric and monastic material.
